Workmanship: Custom cabinetry will cost more than stock. You can see the difference between custom and stock by visiting a local cabinet maker to see custom cabinets and then your local home improvement center to see stock cabinetry. We can offer you some advice, but we can’t make the decision for you.

Base Materials: The materials you choose for your new kitchen will determine a great deal of the total price. Solid wood cabinets will cost more than particle board cabinets. A stone countertop will cost more than a laminate countertop. There are a few places you can cut corners, but make sure you know where those are before you start cutting.

Covering Materials: You may decide you want to go with laminate or formica for a section of the counter tops or the eat-in bar area. This is completely understandable; especially if you worry that the area may take damage or become stained in time. It’s very easy and inexpensive to replace this type of counter top at any time.
