9 Tips to Organize and Beautify Your Kitchen to Make it More Efficient

Oct 19, 2016

A well organized kitchen is automatically more efficient than one that is continually in a state of disarray. You will be glad to know that you don’t have to completely remodel your kitchen in order to add several great organizational tools. Take a look at these 9 tips to organize and beautify your kitchen while making it more efficient.

Hang Utility Items: Pot holders and dish towels are often stored in a cabinet or drawer near the stove. How about installing an open shelf with pegs or hooks for those items instead? This provides display style storage for nice dishes as well as the perfect spot to hang your pot holders, towels, and aprons.

Hang Pots and Pans: Install a hanging rack to hang your pots and pans out of the way instead of tucking them away in a cabinet. This is also a great way to ensure that your cookware is thoroughly ventilated and not collecting moisture or rust.

Drawer Organizers: We’ve all seen silverware organizers for the eating utensils, but let’s take that drawer organization idea a little further. Bowls with matching lids are a big issue in most kitchens, right? Use drawer dividers and plastic bins, or some other organizational tool, to keep those bowls and lids organized.

Decorative Pitchers: Pitchers and vases are a beautiful way to decorate your kitchen. They’re also added storage and organization for smaller things. Consider storing your cooking utensils such as spatulas, tongs, whisks, and large spoons in a pitcher or a small vase that adds to the overall decor in the kitchen.

Decorative Baskets: Just like decorative pitchers and vases, you can use decorative baskets to organize things in the kitchen, pantry, and cabinets. Display fresh fruit or snacks within easy view on the countertop or organize visible storage using decorative baskets.

Use Vertical Space: The space on the back of your cabinet doors, closet, and pantry can be turned into some pretty amazing storage. Use a clear or decorative shoe-rack-style hanger on the back of the closet door or pantry door to add storage to this massive vertical space.

Open Shelving: Rip the doors off of a few strategically placed cabinets and paint the interior to match the accent color you’re using in the kitchen. Place decorative cookware or other decorative items there to create visual appeal.

Matching Cookware: We’re not making any commission on anything by telling you this, so don’t worry, we’re not going to push a specific brand of cookware. But a nice set of matching cookware is a great way to display color and add interest to your kitchen without looking cluttered.

Cabinet-Shelf Organizers: Turn your base cabinets into drawers by replacing them with drawers or by installing cabinet-shelf organizers. These incredible little shelves turn any cabinet into a much more functional pull-out style shelf.

Kitchen organization, and the ability to keep things in their place, begins with a properly designed kitchen. You have to have good groundwork in order to effectively build onto it and make everything as efficient as possible.
